Description

The master's program in Literacy and Cognition hosts a Literacy Clinic that is free to children in the local community. Children who attend are assessed in a variety of areas related to reading and writing proficiency and are provided with tutoring and targeted intervention. This project would fund the purchase of assessment and instructional materials for use in the clinic. Each spring the St. Joseph's Literacy Clinic hosts children from the Patchogue-Medford School District. The clinic provides both a valuable experience for our graduate students and access to instructional support for children in the local community.

Donations support

The assessment and instructional materials we hope to purchase would be used for both current and future students. The items can be used from year to year. Right now, the graduate students have to supply all the materials themselves.
